Purpose Statement

For my research project, I want to ask the students on my tours more interpretive questions and historical references, to see if there are higher engagement levels. I will ask them physicality questions, human connections, emotion questions, initial student questions, and a historical background on the selected work. This will help me explore my research inquiry because I am using the student’s advice to me who weren't engaged on my previous tours. It also follows the interpretive question structure.
I will demonstrate my previous knowledge from other tours, when I interviews the unengaged students, and selected which questions brought the most engagement. I will be able to build on this by accommodating and adjusting my questions depending on the future engagement levels. This research is significant to myself as a tour guide because it allows me to learn and adjust my interpretive tours based on how my students are engaging. This can also be beneficial to my instructor because it will allow her or whoever is directing BRAINY in the future to teach these interpretive strategies.
